SPECTACULAR OPENING BY INDEXI AND FRIENDS

Tarik Filipović: ''It is a beautiful story about a drunken night, when I mentioned my idea about a concert to Tomislav Kašljević who realized it. This was followed by concerts in Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Ljubljana. It was phenomenal and I hope we will return to Maribor!”

This year is the 50th anniversary of formation of this legendary band from Yugoslavia. The band got its name from a blue student report book. The band soon became one of the most popular and famous rock bands in Yugoslavia. The visitors remember their songs as the songs from their youth. “It was great. I remember how thrilled I was when I was listening to their music thirty of forty years ago. That’s what made this concert so special,” said a visitor.

After the death of the vocalist Davorin Popović in 2001, the band took a short break. After a while, they got together again in order to honour the band. ''It is a beautiful story about a drunken night, when I mentioned my idea about a concert to Tomislav Kašljević who later realized it. This was followed by concerts in Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Ljubljana. It was phenomenal and I hope we will return to Maribor!” said Tarik Filipović.

Musicians that performed at Festival Lent, were: Fadil Redžić (bass guitar), Ranko Rihtman (keyboards), Neno Jurin (keyboards), Miroslav Šaranović (drums), Sinan Alimanović  (keyboards), Peco Petej (drums and Muris Varajić (guitar). The concert was entitled If I was somebody (Da sam ja netko) and hosted by a local musician Zoran Predin. Also on stage: Aki Rahimovski, Irina Kapetanović, Massimo, Goran Karan, Željko Bebek, Arsen Dedić, Dado Topić, Seid Memić – Vajta and Tarik Filipović. the visitors sang along to some of the greatest hits, such as Jutro če promjeniti sve, Sve ove godine, Sarajevske kiše, Žute dunje, Ti si mi bila u svemu naj, naj..., 310 poljubaca vrelih, Sanjam, Bacila je sve niz rijeku and Plima. Trio Dado Topić, Aki Rahimovski and Željka Katavić dedicated a song to the deceased singer of the band, Davorin Popović.

The concert was more than we could ask for and proved that Indexi and their friends are still as great as they were.
