Kamchatka is a theatre group of 16 members, known for their multidisciplinary approach to performances. It is led by a renowned artistic director Adrian Schvarzstein – it was him who gathered around himself the mentioned team at one of his street theatre workshops in 2006. The latter proved to be a great success the following year, with the eponymous performance Kamchatka, which received considerable recognition not only in Spain, in the framework of the festival Firra Tarrega, but also at the guest appearances in more than 15 countries all over the world.
Eight persons, lost in the city, each carrying their own suitcase. Travellers or immigrants? Naïve and inquisitive, they can barely conceal their feelings, as they know nothing about our way of life, our customs and our manners of behaviour. We can easily accept the game they play as reality, and it is this boundary that seems to offer a space for dialogue and an invitation to the audience to become active interlocutors.
