In the early seventies, Vlado Kreslin began his career as a drummer and later transformed into a singer of various rock bands. In the eighties, he was the lead singer of the rock group Martin Krpan. Many of the groups’ songs became very popular; some even inspired for novels and movies. In the early nineties, Vlado and his band Beltinška banda, a group of old musicians from Prekmurje, caused a revolution in Slovene folk and ethno music. Kreslin later returned to writing his own music, which he performs with his band Mali bogovi. He often performs with both groups, Mali bogovi and Beltinška banda, mixing several generations together. Kreslin often works with young local and famous foreign musicians.
He already recorded 14 albums and published 3 collections of poetry.
