FAVELA BLAST OFF

DJ Tito & Admiral Rah

What do you get when you combine three internationally working DJ-s with passion for temperamental dance rhythms and sweaty dancefloors? The answer is simple – Favela Blast Off. DJ Tito, Admiral Rah and Government 4000 work as a team since the beginning of the year 2010. In this relatively short time they have successfully occupied a large portion of the Slovenian and Serbian club scenes as well as penetrated good many other European clubs. With their vision of the urban dance music and with their expert ears, always looking for fresh dance production, the group's favourite genres range from Global Ghettotech, Bail Funk, Kumbia and Kuduro, to the quickly rising Moombathon. They draw their inspiration from the musical treasury of the whole planet, and they have the courage to think outside of the established lines of club scenes, which makes Favela Blast Off one of the most cutting-edge DJ-s in the area of former Yugoslavia. All quiet on the Western front? Think again.

DJ Tito is a skilled mixer of grooves from all over the world, with the emphasis on the Orient, Africa and South America, joining these musical flavours into a spicy dance blend with the help of the sounds of electronic underground. He has appeared behind many a turntable in Slovenia and abroad, for example at the festivals Trnfest, Forbidden Fruits of Civil Society, Exit, Soča Riversplash and others. In the meantime, Admiral Rah has expressed his drum'n'bass alter ego DJ Spada in the nightclubs of Ljubljana. However, after joining DJ Tito, he has returned to his first love – the sounds of Brazilian favelas and African tribes, which he effectively combines with funk and progressive. He describes his musical style as »Baile on LSD.«
